Description and diagnostic features
It is beautiful protected indigenous tree.
The roots in the Western Cape stream beds stabilise them by holding the rocks down. During rain storms some stones still get away and bounce down onto the roots in the stream bed. This causes some sap to escape. It is rich in saponins and soon causes the tumbling water to start foaming.
